    John Erck has over 10 years of work experience. In 2017, they became Co-Founder of Rebuy Engine. From 2010 to 2013, they were Co-Founder at Above Market, where they made E-commerce apps for Shopify. During that same period, they were also Lead iOS Developer at Sickweather LLC, IT Consultant at Dahl Consulting, and Business Analyst at Cargill. In 2009, they were Advanced Database Design TA at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and IT Intern - Project Manager, Business Analyst at Cargill. In 2004, they co-founded Extreme Bubbles, Inc. and served as Co-Founder & CFO.

    John Erck attended the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems and Finance.

    James Van Erck obtained a degree in Genetics, Biology, and Cell Development from the University of Minnesota in 2004, having studied Biology, Physics, Economics, and Art Theirtory. In 2013, they obtained a certification as a Shopify Expert from Shopify.

    • The show starts with our Welcome Reception and badge pickup on May 7 at 4pm. Plan to join us for some light programming, food and drinks, and some mingling with other attendees.

  • Thrusday May 8
    • On Day 2, join us for coffee and breakfast snacks starting at 8:30am, talks will kick off at 10am and run until 4pm. 

      Our Day 1 wrap party will start following talks and run until 10pm.

  • Friday May 9
    • Day 3 is a multi-track day featuring sessions on the Customer Journey, Partnerships, and Development. 

      After coffee and breakfast we’ll start these tracks around 9am and wrap at 4pm, with a fun after party to wrap up Momentum immediately following.

  • Your ticket provides access to all sessions, workshops, activations, and all curated networking events. It also includes all meals, as well as some fun swag from our portfolio of Rebuy customers.

  • Momentum 2025 features a mix of keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and panel discussions. Talks and sessions will be led by industry experts, including top ecommerce and DTC leaders, innovators, and visionaries, covering topics like marketing strategies, customer experience, merchandizing, personalization, and ecommerce technology trends.

  • Our speakers include a dynamic lineup of ecommerce pioneers, successful brand founders, and Shopify ecosystem leaders, along with a few of Rebuy’s team members. We’ll be announcing more speakers intermittently leading up to the event.

  • Momentum will be held at the Hyatt Mission Bay in beautiful San Diego, CA. Our welcome reception kicks off with some light programming and badge pickup at 4pm, so you’ll want to make sure you’re in town before that starts.

    While the closest airport is San Diego International, you could also fly into LAX or Orange County airports and take a 90 min road trip along the coast.

  • Absolutely! While Momentum is designed to appeal to established brands, it’s also a great opportunity for small businesses and startups to learn from industry leaders, gain actionable insights, and connect with potential partners or collaborators.

  • Yes, Momentum includes curated social breaks, interactive sessions, and evening events like the welcome reception and after party. These are designed to foster meaningful connections and provide opportunities to engage with other attendees, speakers, and sponsors.

  • No, and no! While we'll have amazing new products and features to show off in the Rebuy ecosystem, we encourage anyone in the ecom space to join us as an attendee or speaker to learn more about the state of our industry. Our Rebuy success and sales teams will be on hand to do audits and demos as needed, but our goal is education, enlightenment, and fun for everyone.
  • The audience will be primarily merchants and ecommerce founders, including folks on CX, Dev, and Marketing teams. You'll recognize a number of brands (check out our speakers for a good idea of some!), but there will also be a fair number of emerging companies you'll want to be the first to know about. Teams of all sizes are welcome, we've got something for every stage of your ecom journey!
