Bundle Builder setup guide

Let shoppers build their own bundles step by step with flexible rules, discounts, and layouts

Transcript

Let's walk through setting up Rebuy Bundle Builder to create customizable product bundles that boost AOV and give customers a fun mix-and-match shopping experience. Bundle Builder lets customers select products across steps that you define, unlock tiered discounts as they add more items, and check out with everything grouped together. It's perfect for build-your-own kits, curated routines, and subscription boxes. And here's how to set it up. First, head to your Rebuy Admin, and click Cart and Merchandising on that left-hand menu. Then select Bundles. Then click Create New. Now let's give our bundle a name that's easy to recognize, especially if we're gonna be creating multiple bundles down the road. We'll call this one Test Bundle Builder and then hit Create Bundle. Now we're in our Bundle Builder editor. This is where we're gonna configure our layout, select products, set up discounts, and customize the experience. Let's start with Layout. We've got two options here for desktop: Side by Side, which keeps the bundle container fixed on the right so customers can see their selections while they shop, or Floating Bottom, which pins the container to the bottom of the screen in a compact flyout—great for a clean look. Each layout also offers three view options for displaying your steps: Default, which is a scrollable full-page format; Tabs, which lets customers switch between steps without scrolling; and Collapsible, which shows all steps on one page with expandable sections. Pick whatever fits your store's vibe and your customer's shopping style. Now, over in General, we'll set the minimum and maximum number of items required before a customer can add their bundle to cart. For example, if our minimum is three, the Add Bundle to Cart button stays disabled until our customers have selected at least three products. We can also select Enable Enforce Max Length if we want customers to hit an exact number before checking out. We can also add a Switch to Subscription option for our bundle by toggling it on and off here with a variety of text fields and subscription type offerings that we can customize. Now, let's jump down to the step setting. This is where you guide customers through the bundle building process. We can create up to six steps, and by default, Rebuy uses AI-powered recommendations, but you can create a custom data source if you want to manually curate products for each step. We'll leave further documentation on this page on how you can customize data sources to achieve super specific outcomes. Let's run through a quick example here of how we can use data sources to do something very cool. So this is our beauty brand. Let's say we want our Bundle Builder to be all about curating a skincare routine. So for our first step, we're gonna use a data source we've preset up to only return face essentials products. And now for our second step, we're gonna use the data source we've set up for body essentials products and so on and so forth. We've created six of these to really customize this skincare routine. We can also set up quantity limits here per step. So for instance, maybe customers can only select one item in step one, but up to three items in step two. And this gives us control over how our bundles get built. Okay, now let's jump over to the Discounts section. First, let's add a progress bar. That's gonna appear right below our My Bundle section over on the right-hand side as we set up these discount tiers. So we can set up to four discount tiers that unlock as customers add more items. For example, if they buy one of our bundle items, they could get 10% off. If they buy two, they could get 20% off. Buy three, let's set it up, they get 50% off. Buy four, let's give them a free gift, and we can customize the progress bar copy here over on the right by switching this to Decorative and making this copy read "Free Gift." And we can choose percentage-based discounts, fixed amounts, or decorative tiers for messaging-only perks like unlocking free shipping. And again, the progress bar is such a great way to gamify the experience and really encourage customers to keep adding. Rebuy uses Shopify Functions to apply these discounts automatically. And if a customer adds or removes items from their bundle, the discount updates in real time. So no manual adjustments are needed. Okay, now let's customize some language in the Language section. We can personalize all the text customers see: the header, step descriptions, button labels, placeholder text, even the messaging when a bundle is sold out. All of this looks great though, so let's show you how to install this Bundle Builder on your store. Now if you want, you can click How to Install for a step-by-step guide right over here. Or you can just keep following along in this video and we're gonna guide you through. Okay? First let's hit Save to lock in our progress, and next we'll need a page for our bundle. So let's open a new tab and head over to the Shopify Admin. Okay. In the Shopify Admin, the first thing we want to do is add a page. So underneath Online Store on the left, I'm gonna click Pages. Then I'm gonna hit Add Page in the top right. So let's call this page Bundle Builder Test, and hit Save in the bottom right. Now in the left-hand menu underneath Online Store, I'm gonna hit Themes and I'm gonna scroll down and either hit this block right here in the middle, or just select Edit Theme to get us into the Shopify theme editor. Now, the first thing I wanna do is add this Bundle Builder page to our main menu in the header. So all I have to do is select the header at the top. Then over here on the right, I'm gonna select the menu and then click Edit. Now you might notice on this page it says Bundle Builder already. That's a previous Bundle Builder we've set up. What we wanna do is link to our new Test Bundle Builder page. So we click Add Menu Item. Let's call this label Test Bundle Builder. And now let's link to our Bundle Builder Test page. Amazing. Now let's click on Online Store and navigate back to the theme editor. Great. We can see there, it's been added to our main menu. Now we wanna change the page we're on away from the homepage, so at the top of your screen, we're gonna select this dropdown menu. And in this search bar, I'm just gonna type in Bundle Builder Test. There it is. I'm gonna select that. Now on the left-hand menu over here, we wanna add our Bundle Builder in. So we're gonna click Add Section underneath Template on this left-hand side. And now click Apps and click Rebuy Widget Block. Now to add our Bundle Builder in, we need the widget ID. So we just navigate back to the Rebuy Admin. We're in the Bundle Builder editor, and we just need this bundle ID at the top of our screen here. All we have to do is click this blue block and it's gonna be copied for us. Great. Now we're back in the Shopify theme editor. We are still selecting that Rebuy Widget Block, and all we have to do is paste that widget ID up here on the right in that text field underneath where it says Widget ID. Awesome. Now let's hit Save in the top right. And one last thing, jumping back to the Rebuy Admin. Let's just make sure this is toggled on to Live. Let's hit Save one more time. And now let's check out on our store how this looks. There we go. We can see the link in the menu right there. So I'm gonna click that. And wouldn't you know it, there is our Bundle Builder exactly customized the way we wanted it. Remember, if you ever have any questions along the way, you can always connect to our Rebuy support team by hitting the Rebuy logo in the bottom right corner of your admin.
