Smart Flows setup guide

Create personalized promotions and campaigns in just a few clicks

Let's set up Rebuy Smart Flows to create personalized automated experiences that engage your customers and boost conversions across your store. First, head to your Rebuy Admin and click Flows and A/B Testing in the left-hand menu. Then click Smart Flows. Then click New Flow on the right. Now we see two options here. We've got Global Promotion or a Link-Based Promotion. Let's break down what each does. A Global Promotion appears on your site until you manually disable it. This is perfect for site-wide campaigns like sales announcements, shipping thresholds, or welcome popups. Now, a Link-Based Promotion only activates when someone clicks a unique URL. This is ideal for targeted campaigns through email, SMS, social media, or even printed QR codes. For example, we could run an influencer campaign where an influencer shares a link on their social channels, and when a customer clicks that link, they're sent directly to checkout with a product and discount already applied. We have a video example of how you can set that up linked on this page. When we select Global Promotion, you can either start from scratch or choose from one of our pre-made templates. These templates set up common revenue-boosting campaigns in just a few clicks. We've got Simple Announcement, Banner, Cart Threshold Discount, Welcome Popup with Banner, Storewide Sale, and Shipping Unlock. I wanna walk us through a quick example from scratch though. So here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna create a Global Promotion that will have a banner and give a free product if a customer spends over $75. But I also wanna create a popup that, if the customer's close to that threshold, we're gonna prompt them to add just a little bit more to their cart to get that free gift. So let's click on Start from Scratch. Next, let's give this Smart Flow a name. So we're gonna call this Custom Promotion Test. Then let's hit Create. Here's a look at our flow editor. This just here in the middle is the name of our flow that we just gave it. And now if we used a template, it makes all of this very easy because the components we're about to customize are pre-added to the promotion and they can be tweaked from there. But let me show you how easy it is just to create one from scratch. Let's build out what the customer is walking into when they land on our store. And think of this as the foundation. It's all built in this vertical line that you're about to see. First, let's set up that website banner. So I'm gonna click Website Banner under Messages here on the left, and I'm just gonna say, "Spend over $75 to get a free gift!" And I want this to actually really stand out. So I'm gonna adjust the colors right here. These are from our theme, but I want this to have a nice contrast. So why don't I take this and apply it to the font and then I'll just make the background color—I'll just invert things here. So I'll use the hex code there. That looks good to me and if I wanted to reset it to the theme, I could just easily hit this button and it would adjust right back to what we normally had it. But that looks great. So I'm gonna hit Back on the website banner here. Okay, let's add another step. I'm gonna add a starting step and now I'm gonna add that cart subtotal. So I'm gonna go to Targeting Rules here and click Cart Subtotal. Now I'm gonna adjust what we're setting this up for. So we want it to be, something happens if this is greater than or equal to $75 in the cart. So I just have to write $75. We can see it adjusts here on the right-hand side. I could get really fancy here with some tiers. For a lot of customization, but I don't need to do the tier mode for this, so I'm gonna leave it as is. Okay. Now let's get outta here and let's do this step. So what we're saying is we've got a cart subtotal of $75. What happens if this is true? We're gonna add an item to the cart. So I'm gonna click under Promotions here, Add Item to the Cart. Now I select my products. I could either do that on the left here under Add Products, or I can just hit directly here and I'm gonna have it add a serum. And I'm gonna have it do our smallest serum. I just hit Apply here on the bottom right, and this is looking good. Brightening Serum. This is gonna pop up when they have over $75 in the cart, but I wanna add that discount so I can see here on the left, I can continue to customize for the discount. I can give free, I can give a percent off, I can give a fixed amount, like $5. I want this to be that free gift that we've been talking about. I could skip this modal popping up altogether, which I'll show you at the end when we preview it and just have this directly added to the cart. But I wanna show you that popup experience first. Lastly down here, I just wanna show you if the trigger fails, which is to say they no longer have $75 in their cart, we've selected Remove Offer from Cart. That's the default. That's just saying, you know, if they dip below that $75, they're not gonna get this free gift. This is gonna be taken outta the cart. If for some reason you didn't want the trigger to fail, you could just hit Do Nothing there. But I like this. It's set up so no one will get anything for free that they haven't earned. Okay, this is looking good, but you know what, I'd like to have a little text up here. So I'm actually gonna go in the Modal Settings and I'm gonna click Product and I'm gonna say, "Here's your free gift!" I could continue to customize this, I could, you know, customize the No Thanks here for the cancel or the Submit Add to Cart, but I think that looks lovely. So let me get out of here. That looks great. But we also talked about, I wanna add an incentive popup if they're close to that $75 to just spend a little more so that they will get that free gift. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna add another kind of foundational step here. It's gonna be the same thing. A Cart Subtotal, and I'm gonna put this one as Between, so let's just say they've added to the cart and it's over $20, and then the max value, let's just go right underneath that free gift. So I'm gonna say $74. So that looks good. And now I have to add what happens if this is true. So if this is true, I wanna have a popup message appear and I'm gonna say something like, "You are so close!" And then the description will say, "Add $75 to the cart to get a free serum." That looks good. Again, I can continue to adjust this in any way I like, but I think this looks great. Back outta the popup here. And I think we're all set. So we're gonna hit Save in the top right. Yes. And now let's see, we're gonna hit Preview up here. As you can see, we've got this banner set up. "Spend over $75 to get a free gift." It's in that contrasting color that we customized. And now let's test out our Global Promotion. So I'm gonna add to cart, see what happens. We've got that "You're so close! Add $75 to get a free serum" because we spent over—we added rather over $29 to our cart. So let's continue to do this. We're gonna hit Close. Let's add a little more. And let's get one more. Let's get this guy. This is our Rebuy Smart Cart, by the way. So let's get a 10-ounce version of this cleanser. And what happens? Our free gift modal pops up. We can see it there. It's got the discount applied. I'm gonna add to the cart, and it instantly adds to the cart with that product discount already added. This tool is so easily customizable and such a great way to create automated promotions that boost AOV and delight customers without writing a single line of code. As always, if you ever have any questions along the way, you can reach out to our Rebuy support team by hitting the Rebuy logo in the bottom right corner of your admin. That's all for this video.
